Worship with us on Sunday at 10:30 AM
We believe there is one God of the universe who is the ruler of all things. He is eternally existent, He spoke the heavens and the earth into existence, and He exists in three equal persons of complete deity: the Father, the Son (Jesus) and the Holy Spirit.
We believe Jesus Christ came to earth by a literal virgin birth, lived a perfect and sinless life, died a literal death on the cross as payment for the sins of the world, and experienced a literal resurrection from the dead three days later.. We believe that salvation is a free gift to anyone who accepts Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. We believe water baptism is a symbolic outward expression of the heart experience of salvation: burial to sin (through immersion in the water) and resurrection to new life (emergence from the water), and though it is the first step of obedience for new believers, it plays no role in salvation.
We believe the Bible is the Word of God, and the supreme source of truth for followers of Christ. We believe it was written by man, under divine inspiration, and that it is without error, and without contradiction. We believe that followers of Christ should practice the study and constant pursuit of a greater understanding of the entirety of Scripture.
We embrace the three "cornerstones" of our faith (described above) as non-negotiable, settled doctrine within our community of faith. The Bible contains many other truths around which we should pattern our lives and use for guidance. Since we are in a constant pursuit of being more in love and more like our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, we devote much of our time in our family of faith to the study of Scripture. Generally speaking, we embrace the statements articulated in the Baptist Faith and Message, 1963 edition, published by the Southern Baptist Convention. Southern Baptists do not embrace a creed, having traditionally stated, “Our only creed is the Bible.” You can click on the link below to read the entire statement of faith.
